What is a Pintabian?
A Pintabian (pin-TAY-bee-an) is a horse with over 99% Arabian blood and large, non-symmetrical spots known as tobiano (toe-BEE- ah-no) markings.

Appearance
Pintabians are truly beautiful animals. Each horse is unique with markings that occur randomly across the body but cross the topline somewhere between the ears and tail. A Pintabian's coat can be almost all white with very little coloration or nearly all spots with only a little white. The ideal is mix is 50 percent white and 50 percent colored.

The Pintabian has a “dished” face and large, wide set eyes. Its head is usually colored with a white marking (such as a strip, blaze, star, etc.). The neck is arched, the back short and muscular. Hips are relatively level and the tail carriage high. Legs are commonly white.

Pintabians are relatively small horses. They generally stand between 14.2 and 15.2 hands, and weigh between 900 and 1,100 pounds.

Characteristics
Pintabians have a temperament very similar to an Arabian. They are obedient, friendly, energetic and moderately easy to train.
